The revival of the time-honored craft of knitting and the love of yarn has made its way back to Grass Valley where Cornish knitting roots run deep. As an essential occupation for Cornish women in the old country using wool from local flocks for their yarn, many villages had designated areas where knitters could meet thus making it a social affair as well. We can now proudly add Grass Valley to that list of villages!

My vision for Fibers is that it's a place where we can connect with others who share our passion now, and with those who've come before and will come after after us, by continuing a tradition of handwork that spans the ages and the globe. I see Fibers as a place of abundance, where we can indulge our own desire to knit and at the same time, choose to support those in areas of the world who struggle to survive. For me, knitting is not only an addiction, but also a meditation, a stress-reducer, an outlet for my creativity and a never-ending source of contentment. From my first dream of Fibers, it has been a place where those who came to shop would find a feast for their senses, and those who work here couldn't wait to arrive. I hope you like what we've created! Allison
