Located in the historic gold mining town of Grass Valley, California, the gallery is at the center of a vibrant visual and performing arts community. 37 juried visual artists cooperate in presenting their work in this 19th century building. The work includes ceramic, glass, jewelry, painting, woodturning, furniture, fiber art, metal, mosaic, mixed media, photography, and sculpture.
Art Works Gallery opened in May 2010 as a new Grass Valley downtown artists co-op gallery on Mill Street. We have been successful in part due to this excellent location but more importantly due to the commitment of our many artists working together to share the responsibilities as a unified team. We divide the work and share in the fun and enthusiasm, as well as the expenses to create a successful art gallery for all the members, and the community.

Avanguardia Wines blends over twenty Italian, Russian, French and University of California created crosses from its estate vineyards to craft unique and prize winning wines. Many of the grape varieties have been imported by the University especially for us and are available nowhere else, outside of Europe.
Specializing in premium blends from rare and unusual grape varieties, we rely on the tradition of selecting grapes for their synergy of flavors and tastes while using creative selections in our blending. From the crisp, racy minerality of our dry white blend, Selvatico, with grapes from the far north of Italy and the southern island of Ischia, to the generous depth of Ampio, our dry red blend of Refosco and Carmine, our wines are designed to complement fine cuisine and provide new and unique tastes for your wine drinking pleasure. Try the range of our seven proprietary blends and you taste why we are on the cutting edge of the blending craft.
Visit our historic tasting room. The “Quick Building” was built in 1846. It is one of the oldest buildings in Grass Valley. It’s built of brick with horsehair plaster walls. The solid iron back door and the courtyard windows with iron shutters helped slow the spread of dreaded fire. We keep up the heritage of the historic building by furnishing the tasting room with antiques from Rob’s family, including great-aunt June’s secretary, Grampa Balcom’s desk, Uncle Heydie’s American Indian carpet and other family antiques.

Lucchesi Vineyards & Winery specializes in traditionally crafted wines produced in small lots to capture their varietal character and regional qualities. Grapes in our steeply terraced vineyards produce some of the finest wines found in the Foothills.
Our love of the land is reflected in each bottle of our wine. Great care was taken in selecting the grape varieties and clones which were best suited for our Sites Series soils and mountain climate. Our southwest exposure maximizes the suns’ rays, perfectly ripening the grapes with concentrated flavors, color and texture. We welcome you to Lucchesi Vineyards & Winery and hope you enjoy our collection of great California wines as much as we love making them.
