Halloween 2020

We will not have the traditional safe trick or treat for preschoolers.

Downtown will be open to shop and take photos with all the Halloween decorations and downtown murals. Shop in costume!

Local Restaurants will be featuring seasonal goodies. There is a list of activities (scroll all the way through this page) with links for costume contest, skeleton scavenger hunt, tri-tip dinner, and more.  Click on each link to learn more. Enjoy all the photo opportunities with the amazing Halloween decorations and share #grassvalley #grassvalleyhalloween if you post on social media.  Happy Halloween!

vote best halloween window downtown

Ben Franklin Crafts & Frames, Nevada City Chamber of Commerce & Grass Valley Downtown Association have teamed up to promote our downtown shops and merchants with a fun and festive window contest to celebrate Halloween.

Local shops are encouraged to get into the holiday spirit by decorating their windows.  Between October 23rd-30th folks can vote for their favorite local merchant’s window display. On October 31st a winner for Nevada City and Grass Valley will be announced and awarded $250/each.

This year’s contest is generously sponsored by Ben Franklin Crafts & Frames. The family-owned and operated shop reminds us that creativity knows no boundaries.
